This painting is an abstraction and reflection inspired by a hike in Mt. Rainier which started at Lake Mowich. I felt so much peace and elatedness all at the same time when I visited. It was like real life FernGully. The lake’s name, “Mowich” is derived from the Chinook jargon word meaning deer. It’s funny how the imagery in this piece just jumped out much like a deer coming out of the forest during my meditation and process of painting. I’m so glad that it did. The magic of this place was beckoning to be captured.
